Rarely am I at a loss for words, especially when it comes to desserts. But today I have no words.
Can you see why? This masterpiece is by thekitchenwhisperer.net, and here’s the link to the recipe. I discovered it on Pinterest some time ago. I pinned it…..but then again, I pin so many chocolate peanut butter recipes that it just kept moving down the priority list. That was a big mistake. Last Saturday, on a whim, I decided to make it. Best end to a Puttin’ on the Dog meal — EVER.
A couple of notes. First, I used a 9″ cake pan for the brownie and put all the batter into one pan. It just looked like it would be a pancake when I only put half in. I also left out the espresso powder. I know the experts say that it enhances the flavor of the chocolate, but I tend to disagree. Second, don’t deviate from the instructions on the hot fudge recipe. She says to trust her on this, and you should — because I didn’t. My sauce came out too thin; I tried to thicken it with cornstarch, but that didn’t work. So mine looked like Hershey syrup. Third, I was so distracted by the hot fudge mishap that I didn’t read the instructions to the cookie dough portion carefully. I just mixed everything in a bowl, but it seemed to turn out fine. Finally, whipped ganache? Genius!
This thing is 5 layers of sheer delight; it is totally a “Barbified” recipe. And the big shocker is that Matt even liked it.
